NFYB is a New Jersey-commissioned remote online notarization service for eligible U.S.-connected documents. Eligible signers may participate while physically outside the United States; citizenship itself is not the legal eligibility test.

The record must relate to a matter under U.S. jurisdiction or to U.S. property or a U.S.-connected transaction, the signing must be lawful where the signer is located, and the receiving organization must accept a New Jersey electronic notarization.

Can a New Jersey notary notarize for me while I am overseas?

Eligible signers may join from another country when the record has the required U.S. connection, identity and technology requirements are met, and signing is not prohibited where the signer is located. The notary remains physically in New Jersey.

Do I have to be a U.S. citizen?

No. Citizenship itself is not the legal test. The document’s U.S. connection, the signer’s location and ability to participate, New Jersey requirements, and the receiving organization’s acceptance all matter.

Will my document also need an apostille?

Only if a foreign authority asks for one. An apostille is a separate government step and does not by itself guarantee that the receiving authority accepts the document.
